1/28/25 — On January 28, 2025, Boys & Girls Club of Manchester officially announced the change in its name to Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Manchester. Changing the organizational name expands opportunities to kids and families in the surrounding communities.
Since 1907, as the founding Boys & Girls Club in the state of NH, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Manchester (BGCGM) continues to deepen the impact of work to provide comprehensive and inclusive before and after school programs for the kids in the Manchester community. Students, grades kindergarten through senior year of high school, can enter the Clubhouse doors and participate in a variety of programs including Performing Arts, Athletics, STEAM, Learning Center, and the Zen Den. We have also expanded our services to three elementary schools in the city: Highland-Goffe’s Falls, Jewett Street, and most recently Gossler Park.
Additionally, BGCGM operates three 10-week summer programs. Camp Foster, a summer day camp program in Bedford, NH, is open to students entering first grade through seventh grade. At Camp Foster, campers explore 20-acres of land. The activities they are accustomed to at the Clubhouse and their sites are also available at Camp. In addition, campers are exposed to a swimming pool where they can learn to swim, and a pond where they can boat and fish. Kidz Kamp is available to students enrolled and entering Kindergarten in the fall and are at least 4 years and 9 months old. This is a specialized version of Camp Foster, designed to gently introduce our youngest campers to summer camp. Kidz Kamp days are structured with their endurance level in mind giving them the opportunity to take a break from the summer heat as needed and even take a nap if necessary. While most of their days are spent at the Clubhouse, Kidz Kamp does venture to Camp Foster twice a week for swim lessons and other Camp activities, preparing them for future summers of fun. The Tween/Teen Summer Program is open to students entering sixth grade through seniors in high school. These members use the Clubhouse Teen Center as their summer hub, and take weekly field trips to state parks, local amusement parks, participate in community summer programs, and more!
“The opportunities we provide our kids are endless,” says Diane Fitzpatrick, BGCGM CEO. “We want to provide these opportunities to as many kids and families as we can, and by encompassing Greater Manchester we are taking the first step to being Better, Bigger, and Bolder!”
The new name comes with a new logo and a new website domain, bgcgm.org. For more information or questions, please contact marketing@bgcgm.org.
